Writing Music Monday: End Of Line by Quantum Jazz

[cover] Quantum Jazz - End of LineWhat is it about albums released after the band that created them has already broken up? Why are they often so excellent? I haven’t the foggiest idea.

Well, End of Line by Quantum Jazz is just such an album. And it’s actual jazz, which is always nice.

Recorded in May 2011, it was released at the end of that year, some six months after the group had parted ways. And based on this and their other Creative Commons album release, that’s a damn shame. They did excellent work.

It’s modern, yet melodic and not at all off-putting (to my ear, at least). And they came up with some truly excellent titles for their tracks, epitomized by “If I can’t dance, it’s not my revolution”, the second piece in this album.
